KUDO Energy is seeking a Health & Safety Field Advisor to oversee safety operations for a short duration Turnaround project near Conklin, Alberta. This is a camp-based position, with on-site activities tentatively starting April 28th and ending around May 19th. The Health & Safety Field Advisor will be responsible for supporting safe execution of work for KUDO personnel on-site during the project.
Accepting Contract or Employee Applications. Candidates must be willing to travel to Bonnyville for the start of the position.
Location: Bonnyville, Alberta (Camp-based)
Project Duration: April 28th – May 19th (3-week turnaround)
Tentative Start Date: April 15th for project prep
Key Responsibilities:
- Advise workers and provide supervision on safety protocols and procedures to create a safe working environment for all employees on-site.
- Conduct regular site inspections to identify hazards and recommend corrective action to prevent accidents or injuries.
- Provide guidance and support to workers regarding safe work practices and procedures.
- Monitor compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies.
- Maintain safety records and reports, including incident and injury documentation.
- Lead or participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and safety training sessions.
- Act as the main point of contact for any safety concerns or incidents during the turnaround project.
- Monitor and manage the personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements for workers on-site.
- Work closely with the project management team to assist in the integration of health and safety into all aspects of the project.
Requirements:
- Safety certification training (e.g., NCSO) is required.
- 3-5 of experience in occupational health and safety in an industrial setting.
- Valid H2S, CSO, First Aid.
- Knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and Regulations and WCB legislation.
- Minimum Class 5 Driver’s License with clear driver’s abstract.
- Ability to successfully complete pre-access drug and alcohol testing.
- Previous SAG-D industry, oilfield turnaround, or camp-based work experience is preferred.
Additional Qualifications:
- Proficient with SiteDocs system (an asset).
- Proficiency with database applications and administration systems, specifically Microsoft Office.
- Strong communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Ability to work effectively alone and prioritize tasks.
- Must be a highly motivated, service- and team-oriented individual with attention to detail.
Working Conditions:
- Physical ability to lift up to 50lbs.
- Travel as necessary.
- The role requires on-site presence for the duration of the turnaround project.
