Schedule: 8:00 am – 5:00 pm 16-32 hours per week
Location: Lakeland Humane Society, Cold Lake
Key Responsibilities:
Animal Care Attendant:
- Responsible for maintaining sanitation and cleanliness standards in accordance with policies and procedures of the Lakeland Humane Society
- Responsible for the daily feeding, watering and care of all animals in the Animal Care Centre. Ensures that sick and/or injured animals are separated from healthy ones.
- Responsible for daily observation of animals in quarantine. Provides constant humane care and handling of the animals, updates animal records, and observes/reports any animals’ health symptoms requiring medical attention.
- Administer medications, vaccinations, and microchips; performs procedures to assist in the detection of disease/parasites and other conditions related to public health and animal welfare.
- Responsible to maintain a clean organized work area that includes but not limited to; lavatories, office space, storage sheds, grounds and front parking lot
- Effectively communicates with the public, volunteers and others to coordinate activities and resolve issues related to Animal Care Centre activities in a professional and polite manner at all times.
- Knowledge of safety hazards and necessary safety precautions and assures a safe working environment.
Qualifications:
- Valid drivers license
- Over the age of 18
- No experience necessary, training provided
- Available weekdays and weekends
- ability to life over 40lbs
